Biologist — Tower Defense Simulator Guide
Category: Support
Unlock: 849 Robux
Detection: Hidden, Flying, Lead
Placement Limit: 8 per player
Tier Rating: B
Total Upgrade Cost: $27,700
Biologist is a support tower that does not attack directly. Instead, it grows plant units — Sunflower, then Ivy at Level 1 and Nightshade at Level 3 — inside its small deploy range, and those plants do the actual damage. Sunflower is a cheap single-target attacker that eventually gains Hidden detection, Ivy hits an area with poison that also detects Lead enemies, and Nightshade is a slower but harder-hitting single-target unit with Flying detection and a confusion effect. Because the tower itself has only 4 range and a 1.5 deadzone, its plants effectively determine its real attack range and detections.

How to Get Biologist
Currently available only through a limited-time gamepass for 849 Robux.
It briefly returned as an in-game unlock via triumphing Bathroom Approach on Hard difficulty between April and June 2026, but that method has since been removed, leaving the gamepass as the only current route.
Is Biologist Worth It?
Biologist is cheap to place ($750) and useful from very early game thanks to Sunflower's solid single-target DPS and cost efficiency.
It becomes a flexible mid-game support piece once Ivy and Nightshade unlock, since together the three plants cover Hidden, Lead, and Flying detection — useful for Hardcore mode where every detection type matters.
Its upgrades are relatively expensive for a support tower ($20,000 for the final level), so it is best valued for its detection coverage and stalling utility (Ivy's slow, Nightshade's confusion) rather than raw damage.

Best Loadouts With Biologist
Pairs well with debuff towers like Electroshocker, Freezer, or Warden, since most of Biologist's own buffs are wasted on its plant units but enemy debuffs still help its plants kill faster.
DJ Booth's discount buff helps offset its high upgrade costs, while towers that don't need extra hidden/flying detection can be freed up to focus on pure DPS since Biologist's plants can cover detection instead.
